Jason Brown was raised in Yorba Linda, California. Grateful for his Mormon roots, in 2015 he converted to contemplative Catholicism. He has a B.A. from Brigham Young University in Anthropology, joint master’s degrees in forestry and theology from Yale, and recently completed his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia in Environmental Humanities. His scholarship and writing explore contemplative spirituality, monasticism in the American West, spiritual ecology, and the phenomenology of landscape and place.
